MOJACAR PLAYA
Famous for being two resorts in one. Mojacar Playa on the beach with approx 6 miles of restaurants and bars all next to the sea, and Mojacar Pueblo on the hilltop with white cube houses and lots of shops, bars and restaurants. Very busy with Spanish as well as English and other continental tourists.

MOJACAR PUEBLO Mojacar Pueblo With its priveliged location, Mojacar is visible from many miles away; distinctive whitewashed sugar cube houses stacked one upon another separated by twisting cobbled streets, winding steps and old arches. Due to its staggered nature the views available from most buildings are spectacular.

VERA PLAYA
Has a very busy build and development programme with hundreds of new properties – the biggest buyers in this area are British. Vera Playa beach is some 5km long and very wide, so is never crowded. It is now becoming an increasingly popular all year round resort both to live and to take a holiday.

GARRUCHA
Garrucha is a beautiful and lively fishing town that still retains much of its original charm. It is famous for its “Garrucha prawns”- only fished in the local waters. Garrucha has a great selection of restaurants and bars with many excellent seafood restaurants found along the seafront serving fresh catch of the day.

SAN JUAN de los TERREROS
A picturesque village on the eastern border of Andalucia. Only 5 minutes from Águilas. San Juan de los Terreros has much to offer those looking to relax. Its beautiful coves with their sandy beaches and wonderful views, guarantee an ideal setting to forget the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Although the village has undergone some development in recent years, it has been carried out tastefully and consequently is seeing somewhat of a boom in tourism in comparison to other areas. The castle is one of the main attractions with a short, but interesting walk to the tower, the reward, spectacular views up and down the coast across the flat plains of the area.

VILLARICOS
Small but beautifully formed, Villaricos nestles on a charming and tranquil port only ten kilometres from the main port of Garrucha.
With many restaurants, cafes, shops, diving schools…there is something for everyone. There are quality new urbanisations currently under construction, which have been carefully planned to fit into the local way of life. A busy little fishing port, many local fishermen go out daily bringing back the catch and selling it to the local restaurants whilst having a quick tipple to keep them going.
Villaricos has one of the nicest beaches in the area, with turquoise blue waters and a wind sheltered cove. Excellent for relaxing and reading a book or for the more energetic, the diving in the area is some of the best.

MAZARRON
Mazarron is called the “Pearl of the Costa Calida”. In July and August the beaches fill up with Spaniards who have come to spend their vacation in this beautiful village. Other nationalities are just finding out about this amazing village.

AGUILAS
Situated in South Eastern Spain 103 kms from Murcia. Aguilas covers a surface area of 253.7 kms sq. The town is bathed by the Mediterranean sea along 28 kms of lovely coastline and it is crossed inland by high mountain ranges that create a very abrupt and uneven terrain. With a rich clean natural environment Aguilas has an exceptional climate of its own with an average annual temperature of 25c making it a wonderful place for winter tourism. It offers a good variety of outdoor activities, from climbing or hiking through areas of splendid beauty to diving in warm waters replete with magnificent fish and vegetation. On the cultural scene it offers art exhibits, conferences, concerts, artisan demonstrations, theatre and much more. Aguilas is also home to the Universidad del Mar. The Carnival de Aguilas which has been celebrated for the past 200 years offers ingenious costumes of all shapes and colours. The entire town is out on the streets and offers one of the largest shows in the country. A modern and well planned town, it is located on a site whose history dates back thousands of years.
The weather in Southern Spain
Is warm in the winter, with a lot less rainfall than Northern Europe, and the U.K. People living in the South enjoy 320 days of sunshine on average per year.
Overcoats are a rare sight even in December and January. It should be noted that other parts of Spain do not benefit from the wonderful climate enjoyed by the residents in this region.
In the winter, other areas of Spain can be wet and cold. In the summer, other parts of Spain are considered to be too hot (e.g. 40°+ Centigrade in Madrid) and many residents, including the Spanish people who can afford second homes often spend the summer on the coast.
